Default 2008 Trans ID CLD or LFD

Hey guys,

I'm having some difficulty finding a used trans for my 2008 1500 Burban. It has a 5.3 DOD engine and is 4x2. When looking used it asks for two different ID's: CLD or LFD. I did do a search here and everywhere else I could think of without any luck...

Anyone know the difference?

Thanks in advance!

After some research, the LFD is the later transmission with the updated housing with a seal build in the case. Also has the addition of an turbine shaft speed sensor.

Both of these codes are on top of the transmission identification sticker and also stamped into the case on the right side toward the rear. RPO codes unfortunely do not relate in any way other than what you said, 4 or 6 speed.

I already knew it was a 4l65e. There are 2 types of 4l60/5e's during this time period (2008) and I wasn't sure which one, sorry if that was originally confusing.

The 4l60e is m30, rpo the 65e is m32, and the 70 is m70...

Yes, that's all correct.

Go to car-part.com and look up 2008 Suburban, vin 0, 4x2 trans and you'll see what I mean. It doesn't have to do with the rpo code.
