Default 2003 Z71 tahoe shifter

Got my Tahoe goin with a freshened up transmission.

Now the fun part. I dont have Park.
The shifter can be pulled out of park with the key on and foot off the brake. Which i dont mind. but i can slam it up in park and i can sometimes hear the parking pawl clicking. But its not enough for it to hold.

Shifts good thru all the gears.

It was a company truck and was taken car of for the most part. 240k miles.

Now im thinking something is up with the shifter cable? has alot of slack and cant "feel" the detent clicking in the trans like it does in my truck.

Besides that, runs great. Weaker than pond water but runs good. Stock tune = fail.

Oh and i lost the P/N safety switch so i bought a new one.
It wasnt working so i cleaned the connectors and still nothing.
I ended up jumping the two main wires and it will crank in P/N now

4wd works good, sunk it first night riding around on the farm and blasted a coyote. Good night.

Adjust the cable... check the driver side frame rail outside of the frame... should be an adjustment... there will be a white plastic sleave that pulls back... then a large blueish clip... pull the clip... push the two cables together and release them then reinstall the blue clip.

Easy to do... I did it yesterday in about 5 minutes
