1st gear
#1
I drove my truck today for the first time after the swap and it seemed right!!!!
However I did a search and alot of guys have said 1st gear SUCKS. I am just wondering how sucky it seems like I have no power until about 3000K RPM in first. any opionons are great on what you think yours feels like

yeah it sound like you need a stall. im going with a 3000 of some kind. how did you work the crossmembers because i have got some stuff comming from speed E. but not the crossmembers and mount. But congrats on the in stall how long did it take you?

There isn't enough gear range in the 4L80-E to give you the same scoot off the line your 4L60-E did. You've already got 4.10's, that's the most I'd put in a 10-bolt.
A torque converter will make up that difference.
(To get my first gear to be as violent as I wanted it I am running a 4.56:1 rear end with 30" tires and a 10.5" torque converter with a 3500RPM stall speed. On a slight incline it will spin those 30" 285's hard enough to shift to second, grabs traction, then downshifts back to first.)
You could always add more power....

If I was to get a stall I will not be able to tow right? That is what is I heard I need to tow so should I just deal with it till time for the 6.0? Also what is some more "power adders" I could do that is kinda cheap

Trailblazer Torque Converters (translated from "TB stall") are for 4L60-E's.
There are several companies making 4L80-E converters with stall speeds around 2600 RPM. Yank is one of them. Keep it around 2400-2600 and you'll retain your full towing capacity.
