Default 1999 4l60e hard to shift out of park

Just wondering if anyone has any insight on this. 1999 sierra 4l60e. It is hard to shift it out of park sometimes. It seems the colder it gets, the worse it gets. Trans shifts fine once you are in gear and shifts fine into reverse and back into drive, just going to and from park. Think a filter and fluid change will help it out?

Sounds like a cable issue IMO.

you could try unhooking both ends of the cable and see how easily it slides back and forth
