The stock 8.6" will work as long as you run the g80 differential and one of those fancy aluminum covers.

I'm still on a bone stock 8.6 rear with a g80... 1100+ lb-ft TQ and drag radials still going strong

So on my 03 SS, all I need is a fancy aluminum cover? lol I wasn't looking forward to spending time and more money on a 14 bolt.

That was some sarcasm right there.

Listen to the first guy and explain your goals and budget.

I wouldn't take a stock 10 bolt to 1200hp.

Chasing an HP number is like chasing the highschool cheerleader. You're never going to be happy.

Chase a trap speed or ET instead.

You'll be happier.
