10 bolt to 66 12 bolt swap
I got a 12 bolt from a 66 pickup for pretty much free so I'm going to see if i can make this work
I need a drag setup so need wheels any way, 5 lug 12 bolt axles are cheap, and 12 bolts are stronger so why not?
The nbs 10 bolt measures 68.5 wms>wms
The 12 bolt truck measures 62 wms>wms
68.5-62=6.5. 6.5/2=3.25. So the rear is 3.25 narrower each side than the 10 bolt
Most nbs drag setups I see run 6.5bs so my new wheel bs would be 3.25, most popular wheel back spacing comes in increments of .5. So hopfully i can make a 3.5 bs work.
Any one see any thing wrong with my math? Or any unforseen problems I might encounter?

Right! .... a car 12 bolt has a bigger pinion and is stronger.
The 12 bolt has an 8.875 diameter ring gear vs the 10 bolt 8.6, but other than that it is no better and the truck 12 bolt has the small pinion.
