1 piece drive shaft

i have a 2001 silverado 1500 2wd ecsb and since i put a bell tech 2/4 drop on it i have drive line vibration. is there somewhere i can buy 1 piece aluminum shaft so i can get rid of this 2 peice

HeartbeatOfMurica 06-11-2018 11:17 AM

i did the drop right too. it has a new carrier bearing and i used the driveshaft center support bracket. followed directions to a tee

Did you measure your current driveshaft angles and see if they are still okay?

How are your u-joints?

HeartbeatOfMurica 06-11-2018 11:19 AM

yes sir the rear is shimmed correctly and u joints are good too. the truck only has 68,XXX miles. and the only thing that has been changed is the suspension

i have been searching on here and found multiple threads started on this same topic but can't find one where anybody has actually done the swap or said where a 1 piece could be purchased.
i really think a 1-piece aluminum shaft from a 2005 crew cab 2wd will work just trying to see if anybody has done it

HeartbeatOfMurica 06-11-2018 11:24 AM

the truck is going to be getting a 408 and 4l80 dropped in soon and the local dyno shop won't run it without 1-peice shaft

FFDP 06-11-2018 11:30 AM

If your plan is to get a 408/4L80e have someone build a 3in thick walled steel driveshaft for you.

Don't even consider a stock driveshaft from a factory truck, they are not rated for high speeds and a built driveshaft made to handle more power is the right way to go.
