08 sierra 1500 denali 2wd need lowered!

Guys i need your suggestions on a lowering kit that will give me about 3 in the front and 5 or so in the rear. I may have to keep it around 4 inches in the rear, considering most of my studying has resulted in all the 5 inch kits for the rear stating not for towing! Why cant you tow? I have a 3500 # car that i may tow on occasion. Also i do not want to cut up my frame to c notch anything, no experience with that at all.
If you guys could send me picks of your 07 and newer trucks lowered with a 3 inch front/ 4 or 5 inch rear drop to help me decide how i like it, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for all your input that may help with my decision. I am strongly leaning towards the mcguaghty kit with the leafs.

For a 3/5 drop kit i would recomend the new ground force kits there a little pricy but worth it and include everything for the install. I have installed a few of the Mcguaghys kits and there good but had alot of alignment issues and really didnt like how the spindles fit. With this drop you should be safe towing but i would suggest helper bags or air springs to help with the load. Here are some pics of some trucks I found online with a 3/5 drop...

This is the look i am after for sure, now my truck being a crew cab would require the leaf spring set up in the rear, which puts me around 1000.00 total kit, unless the flip kit will work on crew cab trucks. If it will next question is will this require the frame to be c notched? I have never performed this on any vehicle but i can bolt on the parts for the leaf kit.
Anyone have one of these kits available at a good price, used or new.

You wont have to use a c notch kit, its safer of course to use one but when you cut off the factory bump stops and perches you have plenty of room for the axle to move up and down. My buddies truck I did the 4/7 on we didnt use a c notch but we did use helper bags but without the bags it still sat fine and never hit frame even on real bumpy roads. Now if you tow with your truck I would suggest you get at least a mild bolt on c notch kit like the McGaughys kits and the helper bags. There pretty easy to install but when it comes to the frame and you not really familiar with it I would take it to a shop.

Great no c-notching, i feel a little more comforted now. Last questions are dealing with the flip kits, verses leafs, the flip kit is basically using a higher mounted hanger, and relocating the axle on top of the leaf correct? Are there any pro or cons to using one over the other, (leafs over the flip kit). Lastly which helper bag, spring, are we speaking of, like the air lift ride control set up or load lifter 5000 type setup, or something like an actual air shock?

that is what i paid total for my drop. i pieced mine together
its a 4/7 the components are in my sig. that even included the rear shocks.
the ground force spindles are really good from what i hear. my front drop did give me a bit of alignment problem but if you want to go 3" up front you should be fine. as far as the rear drop leaf springs, from what ive heard and read they are somewhat bouncy. IMO youre better off going with a flip kit and lift hanger to get you up to 4 or 5. the flip kit by itself will net you 7" drop.
i have the McGaughys helper bag kit. it simply bolts over around the frame, so no drilling needed. here is one with a Mcg bolt in notch(not mine)

LT1STRTOKER, that's my red truck in the 1st pic (was, I just traded it in for a crew cab) but it was at 3/6. You don't need to spend a mint to do this but you do need to know that if you don't pick the right stuff your ride will suffer. I've tried about every combo and this is where I've settled:
McGaughy's 2" drop Spindles $275
McGaughy's strut/coil relocators (adjustable in .5" increments) $145
McGaughy's 5" flip kit or Belltech 5/6" flip kit approx $200
McGaughy's shock extenders $80
Monroe Reflex Shocks P/N 911258 $80
Here's why. MCG spindles retain a good ride and are arguably the best quality and geometry. The coil relocators literally relocate the coil a little farther down the strut, keeping the same spring rate. They're sooo simple. In the rear, the flip kit will put the axle on top of the leaf springs which is about 7" drop but you will also replace the factory rear hanger giving you lift back up to 5" or 6" depending on who's hanger you use. Now for the shocks, the relocators get you some more length and a better angle, they're not wildly popular but believe me you need them if you care about the ride. As for the shocks, don't waste your time on "drop shocks" the Monroe's above are the closest fit, requiring a little modding to the bushings nothing major. No flip kit needed like the others said. Stay away from the drop leafs they ride like crap and your load capacity will go down.
Now for the helper bags, you likely won't need them at 5". 6" you will want to think about them if you tow or haul much at all. The McGaughy's set are the ones you want, they bolt directly to the frame and use Firestone sleeve bags and brackets specific to these trucks, very easy to install and solid. They are pricey at about $375 but worth it in my opinion, very happy with mine. When I'm towing I just pump a little air in them and can get the rear up at least 2-3".
Call this guy, Tim, he has good prices. Ask for a forum discount, he will also answer any questions you have.
