05 LS2 GTO converter work in a truck?
#1
i found a guy selling an '05 GTO LS2 cam, springs, torque converter and valves for $150... i was thinking i can use the valves and springs in my heads, and use the cam and converter, all i need is a timing chain and gaskets and id have a converter/cam swap for a few hundred. then i just get my heads ported, milled slightly, cut for the bigger valves and assembled and id have a decent combo for very cheap, but if the converter wont work, ill try to get the rest cheaper lol and use a 4.2L trailblazer converter... btw approx how high will the tb converter stall behind an lm7? and i think this is the wrong category to ask this in but to group all questions together, how much should i mill the heads and what gasket do i use to get around 10.5:1 compression? and would i be around 350+ chp with these mods and a good tune with all the other boltons(headers &exhaust, ud pulley, efans etc)?

is there a cheaper place to find all this stuff in this kit (head bolts and gaskets req for cam and head http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SLE-12506/swap) thats an outrageous amount of money for gaskets and bolts imo
edit***** found this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SLE-12506/ but i doubt the head gaskets will work, the price is a HELL of alot better then that slp nonsense though, but doesnt include timing cover gaskets... 86$ for a comp timing set sounds ok???

yeah thats what i was thinking vince, maybe ill save the time and energy and leave the stocker in then get a tb converter when i get a chance, i dont wanna go through the trouble for 2-500 rpm when its really a driver not a racer if i can stall 1000 to 1500rpm higher thatd be great... im just gonna ask this guy if i can get everythingelse a little cheaper w/o the converter
