So, anyone seen any good truck races lately?

 

yeah, yesterday i sat right next to a scsb that said he was magnacharged. i was in my ecsb at full weight including a hitch+ a passenger, a system and 2 rims and tires to use at the track in the bed of the truck. if i didnt have all of that weight on me i think i coulda walked over him easily. that made me feel good but i know something had to be wrong with his setup.

then i got a gt mustang at the 1/4 afterwards. there was another truck too but it really wasnt nothing to be proud of.

 

ah i raced an old monty SS with the 305 ho not far back had to give him a lil of the 4.8. ha ha

 

I stood right with a 305 Monte back when all i had was a shift kit .... he was surprised.. lol i was GOING to tell him i had the 4.3L but i figured i'd tell him the truth.. he still was shocked.

 

I thought the 305 was a smogger dogger?

 

305s are considered gm junk. however, i used to love handing people their asses in my old tpi 305. no one ever believed it was a 305 though. oh well.

 

I saw a 01 turbo jetta get his *** handed to him when he tried to pass me Two lanes droped down to one and he thought his was faster I guess

 

Wasn't a truck race but I was on my way from a job in MD and as I hop on the Beltway I notice a Bentley GT behind me in the merge lane. I was in the company van (a chevy but a 4.3 V6 ) so I gave it all she had getting on the highway so he didn't take off and lose me. We were cruising at about 75 in the 2nd to left lane when a R1 goes flying by in the left lane. The Bentley bites and drops gears and he was off. I don't know what happened but it was cool watching them tear off into the sunset.

 

DUDE I HAD A 87 IROC-Z WITH THE TPI 305 WITH 3.73,AIR ON THE REAR RIGHT,VETTE STALL FROM AN LT1,210/224 CRANE CAM,MSD,ALL MSD IGN.,PULLEYS,FUEL PRESSURE REG,AIR FOIL,HEADERS.
BEST TIME 14.12 THEN PUT 1.6 CRANE ROLLER ROCKERS,SHIFT KIT AND B&M SHIFTER,AND DID SOME SUP WORK AND NEVER WENT BACK TO THE TRACK SOLD IT BUT RACED A 96 Z ON THE STREET BOTH OF USE WITH SLICKS HE HAD JUST LEFT THE TRACK HE RAN A 13.69 AND WE WENT RACE I PUT ABOUT 2 CARS ON HIM AND WE RACED 3 TIMES AND HE SAID HE DIDN'T SPIN.

I WISH I COULD GET THE TIRES I HAD THEN 24 IN M/T SLICKS WITCH WERE 9 1/2 IN WIDE.MY BEST 60' FOOT WAS 1.87

 

i got stupid and ended up building a 355 for mine and dropped the motor in, fired it up, then got lazy and sold it. never drove it. now i wish i still had that damn car.
