Hell, Im already considering redoing my fuel system this winter, so I might be answering my own question soon.....

 

If someone wants to send me one I will throw it on the function generator in lab at school and give it a PWM torture test.

I will just post here instead of starting my own post in hopes of getting some help. I picked up the 450 and the extra fuel pump assembly on Friday and we tried to figure out the best way to get this done and are kind of stumped because of the fuel filter that's in here. As you can see in the pics the fuel pump mounts right into the fuel filter, it's "sock" is around the body of the pump and there's a little outlet (white piece in the pics) at the bottom of the pump that looks to help fill the bucket perhaps? AND there's also a Pressure relief valve in there that is likely there if the FPCM fails it won't let more than 75PSI build.

So it's not as easy as just dropping in a pump, anyone have thoughts?

We were going to just remove the filter assembly, mount the pump in the bucket, run the pressure relief valve inline tee'd off the fuel hose to the top and run an inline fuel filter mounted on the frame (this way at least we can replace the fuel filter). The only thing we're worried about with this method is keeping the fuel bucket full as it seems the other pump was helping to do so.

Thoughts?

I believe that pressure valve is meant to crack at 5 bar absolute value, so it should only let you build 60psi. Been a while since I did the fuel system on my 2008...hard to remember lol.

 

So it's important to keep in then? What did you end up doing on your 2008? I assume most people just run return system and bypass the FPCM?

We're hoping to keep the returnless system.
