Default Turbo 4.8 fueling.... Return or returnless and other questions.

So I nabbed a good deal on some 1650 FIC injectors and I'm piecing together my turbo components.... I've been looking at the on3 return system, it seems like a good price but I can't find any reviews on it. Do y'all think that that would be a smart way to go? Can I install a return fuel system on the truck and not have to return? Any other fuel system advice would be appreciated. Truck is an 03.

Go with a Trick turbo kit or KB racing if you want no problems. Or even a Huron kit.

So your truck has a return fuel rail or it's currently returnless?

You'll need a big fuel pump and an aftermarket regulator to control fuel pressure.

Ive got a deposit on a huronspeed kit, but I was under the impression that all nbs trucks were returnless. I was just looking at the on3 fuel return kit. https://www.on3performance.com/shop/on-3-performance-2000-2013-gm-gmc-1500-2500-return-fuel-system-upgrade/

If there is another good return kit, I'm all ears.

My bad, I read that as a turbo kit and not fuel system.

Not all NBS trucks are returnless. 1999-2002 use a return fuel rail. I think some time in 2003 they switched to a returnless fuel rail.

This is a return rail.

Well, I feel like an idiot.... Apparently the 03s had a return style setup, I'm not near my truck so I couldn't check. I guess now I just need to find a good FPR and how to make it work with stock rails.

Well, I guess while I have an audience, are stock rails alright or do I need to figure something out to mount a regulator to them or just do a custom rail setup? I can't find anything 100% bolt up except for some on eBay and the crossover was -6 which is pretty small. I'm looking at stock block 4.8 with gen 3 rods for right now.

With the stock rails you can make them work but the fpr would have to be before the rails which idk if that’s the way you want it. I’ve heard and seen the fpr after rails towards the front of the intake. I’m going return style pretty soon as well but I have after market Holley rails I’m going make work with the shaved gen 3 intake. But the fpr will be after rails like most. Just look at the Holley kits and Edelbrocks and see how they set it up. But I’ve seen the fpr before rails but I think the fpr after the rails it controls the psi then excess back to the tank. That’s the info I’ve gathered

Get the block off for the factory FPR, and put the regulator after the rails.

I’d just get new rails honestly looks way better run some nice fittings 3/8 push lock to -8an or whatever size your running I’ve seen -8 mostly for return and just run a new feed line to a y splitter then off to each rail then to the fpr and back home. That’s my route. Looks good too
