Default Tricks for higher octane?

My closest "premium" gas station is over an hour away and im running a little boost in my 5.3. Im told that, being in Canada our octane rating system is a bit different from the U.S (our 87=US 89, 91=US 93). I have a few stations within 10-20 mins that only carry 87. Ive never liked those "octane booster"s you can buy as ive read a few articles on them where they've been tested and busted. A mechanic i know told me that he used to run isopropyl alcohol in his gas to raise the octane but i dont remember in what proportions.
Does anyone know of any tricks, tips, or mixes to DIY boost the octane?

buy a drum of race gas and mix 1 gallon to every X amount of reg gas you use. Problem with that is you would have to pre mix every tank to get the same ratio everytime

dont waste time with octane boost

you would need to add quite a few bottles of octane boost just to even jump 1 true point. id do the race gas mix or water/meth

Meth is probably your only option. A couple nozzles of meth and you should be safe.

leave saskabush and come to Calgary...we got 94 octane
I've checked into that torco additive, its got great reviews and it'll actually increase the octane rating, if you check out they're site they have a chart to tell you how much to add to get to what rating, I plan to grab a few bottles for when I go on road trips just in case I cant find 94.
the cheapest option would be race gas, which here in Calgary is fairly expensive still, like $160
where as the meth kit will be cheaper in the long run

Honestly, the very best thing you could do is just tune it for the fuel that you have regularly & locally available. Mixing & using additives will give you mixed results, meaning each & every tank will be a little bit different.

If this is a forced induction setup, then a good meth injection setup is worth looking into.
