intake swap

new to group so please excuse my question because i am sure you have been asked this before. i am installing a 5.3ls & trans from a 1999 Chevy Silverado into my 1984 Chevrolet Elcamino.. want to swap the truck intake for a car intake for hood clearance & looks. not interested in adding performance; so what stock GM intake do i need? any other helpful info appreciated. looking to do this swap the cheapest way. so i am new to all this stuff, got to learn. please be specific on the intake with application so i don't screw up & buy wrong intake. thanks

Agreed, LS1 or LS6 intake, then you'll need the fuel rails for it too or aftermarket fuel rails.
Make sure your fuel system is setup correctly and the tune is right for the fuel system style, aka return or returnless. Plus the tune needs changes for the car intake swap too.

No worries, this is a very common LS swap question.
Your 1999 5.3 Silverado uses cathedral-port heads, so you need a cathedral-port “car” intake manifold. The cheapest correct swaps are:

- LS1 intake manifold (1998–2002 Camaro/Firebird)
- LS6 intake manifold (2001–2004 Corvette Z06)
What you’ll also need:
- LS1/LS6 style fuel rails (truck rails won’t fit)
- Car-style throttle body or an adapter
- Some vacuum line rerouting (EVAP, brake booster, etc.)
