Fpr regulator for boost?
Hey going return setup on my nnbs truck. Can I run a boosted setup on a c5 return filter and regulator setup? I know I have to reference the injectors for boost but is it possible to do it with that setup and stock rails or do I need a boost reference regulator and aftermarket rails?i have Holley rails but wanted to save for a big project Thanks

Do not use the vette filter/reg on that. Get a real regulator and real rails.
|
Fair enough thank you. Any advice on brand?
|
I like aeromotive personally, but anything not a Chinese knock off would be fine.
|
My Fuelab has worked great also.
|
You guys have any pics of your set ups or locations? Was thinging near the throttle body but then also I like the look on the firewall but want to run little hose as possible
|
You going to run a new feed and make your old feed a return? I'm doing my rails and injectors right now and mounting mine to the firewall, cleaner look. The crossover runs under the TB and all lines are routed at the firewall.
|
A regulator mounted to the firewall is not NHRA approved.
it's rather easy to make a small bracket to mount it to the side of the master cylinder... it also makes a good path for the return to travel down the frame rail. |

What I’m doing is using an aeromotive FPR for my setup. It’s a tbss intake which is returnless, but the way I have it setup, the stock lines will plug straight into the FPR, and the FPR will plug straight into the fuel rail. I’ll post a pic tonight of it.
|
Yes please and ok since that’s not nhra approved then I’ll move it to the master cylinder doesn’t seem any more difficult then the firewall. But this is just a daily truck and street use no track as it’s my tow rig lol

Not sure why this one didn’t attached in my previous post

I thought you want the reg after the rails and then it bleeds off pressure and then return back? Looks like you’re running it opposite? Fpr the rails? I’ve read people have had idle issues or something like no pressure cause thats return so there’s no pressure after the reg? Anyone else heard of this? If that’s not the case then I love this idea do stock and sleek I would do this

How I have it setup is the exact same way as using a corvette filter, and it’s before the fuel rails, and I’ve never heard of anyone having issues using the vette filter as an fpr...*♂️
|
Boost reference regulator. I know the vette filter works with stock setup and not boosted setups but I need to the regulator to adjust for the boost. I set up a 91 camaro 5.3 swap with a vette reg and works great. But to compensate for boost it needs to have the vacuum to the wastegate

LS9 fuel rails, stock feed as return, and 6AN PTFE line as a feed now.
Running E85, and dual walbros, no issues so far, and FPR is before the rail https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.per...71cdfa871c.jpg |
So you run the feed to the reg block off one port and then out to the rails and stock feed as a return? I’m not sure how the ls9 rails are set up. Is it a single feed to the rails like the trucks? Also I’ll be boost reference if that means anything I don’t know if that’s how superchargers are
|
No, my feed comes in on the right, then on the left it goes into the fuel rails. The LS9 rails are like truck rails.
Then my return comes out the bottom of the FPR. So nothing is blocked off in other words And yeah its boost referenced, thats what that small nipple is for on top of the FPR |
Got ya. And no issues with idle or starting it up? I don’t see anything hooked up to reference the boost but you must not need it with a supercharger I assume?
|
No issues at all.
I didnt have the boost line tied in on this pic, but yes i do need it with a supercharger |
Nice you get any dyno number yet? How much boost you run? Also I got some fast fuel rails for free and want to run those on my nnbs intake. I know I have to make brackets to hold them down but should I use taller ls1 style injectors with adapters or would teuck sytle work on these rails? I know they have a slight slant to them towards the firewall so I was told ls1 taller injectors work better cause of that. Anyone have experience running these fuel rails not on a fast intake? I have my stock teuck rails so I wonder if I set it up like kraze8 has them if they would work with the regulator set up? Thanks
