Default Baffled Fuel Tank 2000 Silverado RCSB???

So just like the title says, is there anyone out there who makes a stock location fuel tank with baffles in it? Truck is 2000 Silverado RCSB 2x4. I'm guessing now that my demand for fuel is higher, I am running out of fuel when I get under 1/4 tank. I normally fill up at a 1/4, but I have a few bridges I go over and on the incline even 1/4 tank isn't enough to keep from starving it if I have to get into the throttle much. Truck is a daily/street truck so I really have no desire to add a fuel cell.

Have you considered adding a surge tank?

Did you hack up your fuel bucket to upgrade the pump?

Either add a surge tank or go to the DBrod’s behind the axle tank. My favorite idea is the latter. Not really involved either.

I had not. Thats something I'll look into though. I'm trying to keep the truck looking as unassuming as possible, so I was hoping to just get a replacement tank for the stock location.

As far as I know the pump and bucket is original, or at least original equipment. My buddy bought the truck 100% stock from an old man. He put the drop kit on then ended up needing the money for his daughters car. With 200k on the body theres a good chance someone replaced the pump at some point. Its possible they screwed something up, but the 2 years I had it prior to the swap there were no issues. I wonder if the sock is jacked up or missing. I guess its plausible that the the stock 4.8 it may have never needed enough fuel to cause an issue.

I'll into that tank setup. Have you installed one?

I have not installed it myself but I have seen a lot of them installed and really really like them. I used to have a photo of the inside of the tank with the baffles but I cannot find it.

This video should give you really good information. The guy can some times be a little over the top with how he wants things done but his stuff always turns out nice.

Dumb question But when your at 1/4 tank, how many gallons does it take to fill it up?
Ive seen several older GMT800 trucks with a inaccurate fuel gauge.

@shakenfake Thats some nice work he does but I'm not wanting to cut the truck up for the filler neck. If he made a stock location I'd be interested in that. I've managed to keep the truck look almost completely stock, except for the drop and rims

Thats something worth looking into. Its been so long since I've filled all the way up I'm not sure, but I know that before the motor swap I didn't have any issues. I suppose if the gauge is off a little, say 1/4 is actually an 1/8 and then combine that with the new fuel consumption, I might have an issue where I didnt before. I'll have to try it next time I get gas.
