Most likely header clearance will be very tight, who makes a good header that hugs close to the engine? I likely won't put much into the engine for extra power (aside from things like headers which will be needed) as that much engine in that little truck won't need much extra!

Slap a VK56motor into it and give these chevy guys a run for thier money, lol
with the power to weight ratio i'd have to say you'd probably be runnin mid to high 10's if you could get traction on a modded VK56 motor from a titan

And not free. If I was buying an engine for this, it would be either a KA24 with 240SX manifolds to run turbos, or an SR20DETT. Turbo 4 cylinder would put down plenty of power and be a lot lighter than a V8 for better handling. But again, not free...

hey man i had a 88 hardbody with the Z24 and couldn't find crap for that thing performance wise except for pacesetter header, i always wanted to drop a 4.3 vortec out of an S-10 in it, or even a 3.8 out of a v6 camaro would be damn fast, but i wrecked it an then bought a chevy. but i still think about tryin to find another one and doin the 4.3 swap, i had a lot of fun in mine because it was slammed with some wide tires on it( no not the ones that stuck out like a beaner truck) but it handled like a dream.
