I have a 2002 Expedition.We are get 12 to 13 mpg.Has anybody figured out why these thing suck so much beside the weight issue.Any tricks

 

man i have an 04 supercrew fx4 ans in town best i get is 13. on the highway i get 17. when i put on the magnaflow cat back and the airaid intake it went to 18 and would touch 19. i took off the intake due to engine lights coming on. now i am going to use the factory box with a homemade tube. and i am going to get it tuned real soon.

 

I know the exhaust sucks on these things,but it is my wifes and she does not want it loud.The intake tube to the box on it is like three inch round.I know that has to be a restriction.Let me know how the homemade tube comes out.

 

i just ordered the 4" elbow. it will be in next week. i will get some pics. i also speced out the airaid box i had. i think i am going to buil a smaller one for the tube to fit into. then i am going to have a scoop up front to bring air into the box so the tube can grab it.
