thanks for the trans info, definitely helpful.

How about some specific turbo setup info? I know there's many ways to skin a cat, just wondering what works for you guys?

Around these parts most people are running front mount turbos. The main problem with a rear mount turbo is finding an oil scavange pump that works well enough to not leave your truck dead on the side of the road.

I am considering a similar setup on my 6.2L, there is at least one guy on here that has put a rear mount on a 6.0 and had good results with it. Hoping to get more insight on it and go from there at building a rear mount setup.

I ran a rear mount 60mm for a few years.. it worked. but lag sucked. it towed great tho

i think it made 375rwhp/450rwtq on 6psi. had roughly 325rwtq at 2500rpms on the stock LQ4

but since i sold all that stuff and finally getting back into the turbo thing, i got a KBracing kit with a borg warner 75mm front mount.

To me, front mount is the way to go. but then again if your on a budget, rear mount works. Just gotta clean the air filter alot.

Haha... That's a true statement, you should never trust another Cole. Maybe it would help if I asked more specific questions:

1. Is something like a MP70 a good bet for a turbo? I was hoping to be able to find a factory turbo that would be suitable for my use ( for instance a turbo off of a smaller displacement diesel). I am planning on using all used parts for the most part (other than a tune if course), what options would be best?

2. How about injectors? Again I would love to be able to run something off a stock vehicle (like 8.1 chevy injectors or something of the sort). Are there any factory injectors that would work for my goals? Also, what are options from the aftermarket as well?

3. How about manifolds? Is there anything wrongs with using/fabbing the stock manifolds? I don't mind fabbing something from scratch, but I won't reinvent the wheel if there is a good economical option.

4. Is room for a front mount turbo a significant concern if I run dual electric fans? I have never seen a turbo system on one of these trucks in person.

5. Intercooler options? Is the eBay option the best for the money?

6. BOV and other small details... Any suggestions ior ideas are greatly appreciated!

Remember, this is going to be done simply to boost power somewhat, not looking to make massive power. Ideal goal 375hp and 425-450tq to the wheels in a usable rpm range (no racing or hard launches), just practical driving.

So, let's hear some ideas!

The guy with the rear mount lq9 ran 11s with a 78mm and mild heads and I think a mild cam with stock bottom end. so I think you can easily make power with one. The front mount isn't an option for me as I already have ARH lts and plan on keeping those. I think if you move the turbo further forward it should reduce the turbo lag some. Read everything you can online and you will find most everything you need in terms of how to build a system. Just need to clarify some of the odds and ends type stuff but I think a good sized turbo it should make good power.

how is engine compartment room for you front mounted guys. how are plug changes? I have had a rear mount on a fbody before and worked great. On the truck i was thinking of running 2 oil pumps. One on a manual switch for emergency. They arent to expensive.
