Default Worlds quickest and fastest stock bottom 4.8 finally went BOOM details inside

Ok so as most of you know i had a stock bottom 4.8 from a 01 truck in my 240z , this past weekend it finally left go at hald track it went poof and shut down, i got it apart today and both rear pistons are totally gone the wrist pins are still there but the pistons had been destroyed and lay in the pan in billions of shards. see image below. any way i took it all apart to try and save every thing i needed like the oil pan and cam ect to throw another junk yard build together when i noticed something odd, all 8 rods are slightly bent!! some a little more then others and only slightly but yeah every single rod is bent, this essentially lowered my compression and is probably why it lasted all season at boost levels as high as 24 for a brief run and 19 psi for many runs. any way here is where i need help im going to the junk yard tomorrow to get another 4.8 and i was wondering if there are any 4.8s that are stronger ? i heard some had better rods and this is probably what i should get. any way almost everything was destroyed inside the motor it was like a grenade went off even the cam is damaged. ill add more pics as i get time but for now i could use help sorting out what year 4.8 i should look for .

Man, I'm not sure what is more painful - reading that post or seeing the destroyed motor!

Surely sucks though! Do you have details on your setup? What PSI and timing have you been running? Any indication that it was running lean?

Keep us posted on your rebuild!

actually they are late late 04+ so you would be better off getting 05+ to be sure. My 04 does not have the LS2 rods. What turbo?
