With doing this, what kind of HP loss is there? With having the AC cranking, and the Alternator needing to charge things there must be some HP loss. But does the lower IAT's make up for this?
The AC compressor is not engaged at WOT so there won't be any HP loss. Just use it to get your water cold and then turn it off for the run. Having it on during the run will make no difference at all in IAT's.
We build one that uses the ac but I think the heater core swap over will work as well and is alot cheaper then any chiller. For racetrack use I recommend you get a cheap over flow tank to catch any water from dripping on the track.
I also believe to help with the IC sweating some guys are Rhino lining there IC's. I know I'm going to pursue this route with using a chiller when I get to that point in my setup. Still exploring all options as to which A2W intercooler I'm going with.
