Default Who here is running a turbo w/out forged internals?

A hick up came with my money situation (lost almost $1000), but I want kbracing's turbo kit bad. I Pretty much have money for everything except the forged internals..

I've read up on how with a great tune the stock 5.3 can last even at 500rwhp

I'm thinking about running 400RWHP (through 4l80e) while I don't have forged internals, then bump up the psi when I do get internals. Would I be fine? I would get Wheatley or Nelson to do the tune.

This is my first turbo btw

thanks

Im in the same boat as you. Im gonna run the turbo on a h/c 5.3 stock internals and with an 80e. Only ARP head bolts.

that is not a problem I made a tad over 500 on a cam only 5.3. The problem was when I keep pushing it to bump it up to 15lbs of boost. Running at 10lbs is easy 475rwhp and very safe.

im 513 on a 6.0 stock everything, conservative tune with no meth yet..... its all aobut safety, if you don't care you can make good power but sacrifice reliability......

Choose two:
fast, cheap, reliable

You could probably put down 400 to the wheels with a 5.3/80e/mild cam on a conservative tune at maybe 6psi. Haven't dynoed mine in a while but I'm sure its in the low 500s with meth.

you can blow up at built motor as well as you can a stock motor if the tuning is not good....

It's all about your tuning. Your goals are very realistic for a bone stock 5.3 with boost only on pump.
