Porterville,CA(MAJOR SHITHOLE) Ya I know they can be fuckfaces! But I really like the whipple supercharger it's self I've seen what it has done on the lightnings over the eaton. Hay try kenne bell they are comming out with an intercooled kit soon. They are a bit less flakey

With a 4.8L I'd definitely go with a Radix. You could get 10-12 intercooled PSI working through that thing and really do some damage.

there are benefits to both if you want bolt on and go then radix, if you want more power and better ET's whipple but Id be prepared to get 42 lbers and a custome tune which youll end up with anyway.
Not sure what you mean here. I dont see how a non-intercooled whipple is going to net better times and more power. I would like to know your reasoning behind this....

Ive seen a non intercooled whipple on an 8.1 make around 550 ftlbs in a 2500HD with the allison tranny the only other mods were my tune, 42's, midlengths and exhaust. This was on 5-6psi the magna is a great kit but it cant breath like the whipple and with thier new stuff coming out. He says he got to 600 but I cant verify that.

I understand your point. But we need to take into account that it is on an 8.1 rated at significantly higher torque from the factory. The whipple is a larger unit and theoretically should provide more air.

But we are talking about a 4.8 here, the Maggie can provide plenty of boost. At least 12, maybe even 14. TURBOGIBBS made 450rwhp with his 4.8. Pretty stout numbers if you ask me. Running out of breath is not an issue with the maggie and a 4.8. The maggie can provide about 8-9 psi on a 6.0 and then it is maxed out.

For the average Joe who wants 500rwhp or less, I think the maggie is ok. The ideal set up would be an intercooled KB, whipple, or mp122h pushing a max of 15psi.

I completely agree, its just everything Ive seen the whipple tends to make more torque and lower in the rpm. The psi game is only a measure of restriction
