Just got my first oil change on my 17' 6.2 CC 4x4 and started looking at kits, what made you guys go with PD over the centrifugal? I haven't had either. I love my turbo truck but want a SC for this truck.
Any fuel economy numbers to share before and after blower?
Thank you

Excellent question. I am a turbo guy thru and thru. My 17 Z06 is currently undergoing single turbo conversion and my 11 CTS V just went thru a Big Inch LSX Motor Twin Turbo Conversion. I love the flexibility and power curve of a well done turbo system. However, for cars not originally equipped, expect some "teething pains" for custom setups (e.g. heat management, tuning, chassis tuning, etc.). I decided to go the whipple 2.9 route because of its simplicity, reliability and ability to make good power "easily". From a performance standpoint, I liked the "instant"/down low power capability in a large vehicle that will rarely see high rpm. I might have considered a turbo kit, but didn't want to spend 10K for the Armageddon kit/other. ...and again, just wanted to be able to bolt on and go.

RE...my truck, I should have some numbers/impressions after the final mods have been installed:

- 3.75 Pulley
- TSP Headers/Y Pipe
- Loudvalves cutout
- Alky Control Meth Kit
- Upgraded Driveshaft
- TCM unlock and tune

Oh yeah. Truck Dyno'd at 525/545 at ~ 8psi. Thought it would be more with LT's/Cutout, but told tuner to keep it as safe as possible for durability. Weather is pretty crappy now, so haven't had much time to play...that and its the wife's truck and she is less willing to share these days. One think that I did notice is that with traction control on, truck feels like a dog. With it off, feels like a different truck.

Driveability is good. Trans feels good. Shifts are a bit smoother. Had one instance where, where it hit rev limiter once under a wot run, but hasn't happened since. Timing is unchanged from Whipple, which I think is 18*. Using HPTuners to tune. I know that there is more on the table. I'll take the easy stuff = exhaust (done)...that won't hurt reliability. Someone suggested going with non-stock airbox. I'd like to avoid going smaller on pulley or getting more aggressive on the tune, cuz daily & tow rig. Who am I kidding...just a matter time.
