SS Autochrome.

Several people have purchased turbos that at the time were advertised as Garretts and were, in fact, immitations. They promptly detonated the first time they experienced considerable boost.

http://www.turbomustangs.com/forums/...t=ssautochrome

http://thirdgen.org/techbb2/showthre...ght=autochrome

Not to mention the import forums where everyone that purchased a manifold had it break.

BEWARE, you get what you pay for in this business. I just didn't want to have anyone here go thru what I've seen guys over there go thru.

This guy operates for one reason. He's online. People buy his stuff, and give him good feedback, because superficially, the product "looks" ok. Then, they actually install it and find out it's crap (e.g., intercoolers that have big leaks, manifolds that crack, turbos that explode, etc.). If he were in a physical building it would have been burned down by now for ripping off too many people. If ebay had a longer duration feeback system (i.e., with followups), ssautochrome would be out of business.

You might as well buy a turbonator

Do not buy SS Autochrome turbos!!! I have read horror stories on the internet about those units for some time. You should check out MasterPower turbos on www.forcedinductions.com ...They are a good turbo and cost about $500 a piece brand new. PM Jose and he can answer your questions & set you up.

Master power's are cheaper b/c they are produced somewhere in S.America. They've been fairly well proven. They're not the best but are an entry level unit.
They were doing r&D on ball bearing units a few months ago. Stay away from a PTE 50 series, they have been known for problems.
