Turbo has more potential/top end than a S/C. S/C have better low end. I would serisouly suggest not putting a turbo on your tbi but a 6L like the rest of the guys suggested...less of a headache. Check out STS and Trick sponsors on the right side of the page and look through their FAQ page. I know STS does a good job of explaining the differences between FI set-ups.

You need to ditch the TBI. Elelbrock makes conversion kit for mpi. It utilizes the stock TB with the injectors removed to meter air. You will have to find someone really sharp to make you a chip though.

A turbo will make more efficent power than a s/c. At the same boost a turbo will always make more power unless it it extremely undersized.

I work for STS and we have a very complete universal kit that has everthing you'll need accept for the piping. We can also sell you raw mandrel bends so that you or someone else can fab up the piping.

You can look in the classifieds here or other sites, Try contacting your local wrecking yard for a complete motor and harness and accesories. You will be surprised how cheap you may find one for. Probably in the 1500-2500 dollar range

We advertise about 20 - 25 rwhp per psi on all our LS V-8 single turbo systems. If you build a nice system with proper tuning you could expect the same.

to build my own it cost me less than half what i was quoted on an STS kit with intercooler and I think mine came out much more unique than going with a kit.
that of course doesnt include tuning and injectors, i went with HPtuners pro with a wideband and 44lb injectors
