5.3 or 6.0...i get a full 9psi at wot on my 5.3 with the stock 3.4 pulley.
i think 2.9 is a bit much for a 5.3, but i'm no expert, it may be ok with a dyno tune.
lots of oodies on your truck, should make lots of power, close to 500 rwhp?

Wow, I wish I could hit. That mines hits about 8.5psi and falls off in the upper rpm's. Does yours?

I see 10-11psi bottom 2nd-3rd gear falls off to 9-10 psi 5800-6200 rpm. Cam I have is 121 lsa so doesn't bleed much off.

well ive got a 2.9 and a 2.7 on the way just in case. i would like to make around 11.5psi and then if it drops off because of belt slippage or the cam maybe itll maintain 10psi. when this was discussed a while back i was being told that it would have to be at least a 2.9 but probably a 2.75? i dont know though. will this much boost be safe for the motor with a good tune? and how much power will it make at that level?

Is this a 5.3 or 6.0? I had a 2.75 on my 5.3 for a while last summer. It's Ok as long as you are tuned for it and can provide adequate fuel. Might want a little meth in the mix if you're going to be running it hard. Could be pushing it if you plan to keep the 2.75 on a 5.3 long term. You get into boost a lot easier. Your IATs also climb faster and higher. A 2.75 is good for 12-13psi on my 5.3 in warm weather.

For daily use with a good tune and good fuel supply, I would say the 2.9(or larger) if on a 5.3, the 2.9 or 2.75 if on a 6.0. Any of these will put you over 10 psi. Obviously the larger the pulley/less boost, the safer it will be. Depends on what risk/performance balance you are willing to accept.

Your trans might not be too happy though if it only has a shift kit and servos.
