what axles are you running?

I got Moser in it now. I have to be honest though, I don't think the stock would have broken with turbo. I usually left at 6-8lbs and cut 1.4-1.5s off foot brake, when it broke it wasn't on launch, it was 18lbs and 3800 rpm up against the brakes.

those stockers held some power for a while then. I would rather be proactive though

They did for sure, they just couldn't take a 18lbs brake hold. I ran slicks a lot too so that probably put less stress on them than a radial too.

For my education, why might slicks put less strain on the drivetrain than radials would?

slicks do not dead hook, controlled spin, so I feel would put less shock on the axles. A radial is designed to dead hook.

I thought it was the opposite. I always thought slicks break shit cause they hook better.

for sure more strain than a street tire, from what I know the slicks will absorb a lot of energy and have controlled spin to them. To make a radial hook, it needs to pretty much dead hook which I feel would shock the system more. a hard nitrous hit off the line would be worse to me than turbo, or manual car dumping the clutch would be harder on things than a stalled auto. I was leaving off foot brake and 6-8lbs on slicks so I was just saying from my own views the axles would have been fine.
