Default what are normal egt's

I can't seem to find any info on what egt's are normal for a 6.0 I want to know what I should see at like 60mph unloaded and like 75mph with a 6k travel trailer( with a b.w. S300 max boost 6psi) and at the same speeds with no turbo. I recently added my intercooler and just capped the ends added a boost gauge and pyro. I deleted the cats and where they were I put the probe on the driver side and that's like 18"-24" from the manifold and like at a 60mph cruise I see 1050°F doesn't that seem high? And when i gunputit iwith got to 1380°F And the turbo isn't on now the only mods are a CAI and custom tune. Diesels cruise at 800-900°F and it seems when towing anything over 1300 is high what is high and normal for gassers n/a and turboed?

Back when I ran an EGT on my truck for a while I seem to remember it cruised about 1400* and would get to the upper 1500's sometimes 1600* in a 1/4 pass. Gas motors run several 100* hotter the diesels.

I talked to a guy at the track one time with a fully built Cummins with compound twins and running mid 10's with his truck and he said he hit 2200* though the traps! Made me feel better about my EGT's,

if you can tune, raise spark advance everywhere as much as the motor can tolerate without knock, that should reduce your EGTs nicely, especially in WOT.

you're roughly 1400 at the port. it's not that high considering the load. adding timing will lower it until you hit the threshold. then it turns the other way.

On a DD truck do you guys think a egt gauge is needed? I don't tow often and even at the most would be my brother's 95 sclb 2500.

Ive never had one on my turbo vehicles. I really dont see the benefit of one EGT on a set up.

I was going to ask you basically what the other guy was asking.

Why did you run a EGT and why did you stop running one?

Thanks.

Just to see what they were. I had the K-type thermocoupler and just hooked up to my EFILive scanner and logged it for a while.
