I bet it works down low but.. I am thinking you loose 75whp on the top.
more load on the compressor and more heat.
This was a thought, but I seem to think that the IC should take care of it.. It will sound just like it does now at non boost, when its boosted.. I think its worth the shot..

Nice way to step up and take one for the Team! Looks like it should be pretty foolproof. Really just a Blow off valve with a different tension spring. As long as it's mounted before the MAF (if your not SD tuned), it should be fine.

Since it won't likely be open unless your pinned and considering John's exhaust, I bet it won't be that loud.

I don't think you will "lose" any on top. The whole point is to limit and stabilize the boost at a lower RPM than your redline. If he is currentently running say 12lbs at redline, this devise should let him hit 12lbs by say 4500 and hold the 12lbs till redline. It's really no different in theory than a wastegate on a turbo limiting the boost regardless of RPM. He won't see any more load below the boost limit than he would if he didn't install it. Above that boost limit, the bleed off will lessen the load on the supercharger like when the Bypass Valve is open under high vacuum/cruise conditions.

Rick, had to. I have been thinking on how to do this, didn't want to by a turbo waste gate, hack it to hell to make it work, or run a restrictor plate that has been mentioned, as I feel that would put alot more strees, make alot more heat then this part would... This is a simple, practical thing. And if in fact it works, it could do alot for us centri guys.. So now the power well kind of a roots blower lower down, keep it pulling all the way up like a turbo.. I am just fearing belt slip if i slap a 14 lb pulley on the P1. or I can slap the IW kit on the truck, 10% over drive it.. Well se. This will be a good project..

I'm gonna agree with this guy on this. I cant see the pictures posted but if it's what is being described than the compressor wheel is gonna be working overtime at higher rpm's. The difference between this set-up and a wategate on a turbo is that the waste gate is BEFORE the compressor wheel so it regulates the speed of the compressor wheel which in turn controls the boos pressure. With this system it seems like all that this regulates is the boost pressure and not the compressor wheel speed which is a direct drive system.

John, you might wanna take a look at the compressor efficiency tables an see where you procharger will be at to given RPM's that you plan on spinning it. If it turns out that overdriving it as much as your saying that you might turn your compressor wheel into a massively inefficient heat pump.

Just a thought!!
