If you're wanting a fast spooling street setup, the 80 and a tight converter should be the ticket. I'd think it would pull a bit better up top too... JMO

well i have the trick set up with the downpipe and the 88mm ballbaring turbo that tom nelson has played with....on you set up whinch is the same as mine for the most part, would do 700-800 on 15-18psi with no problem...pm me with your budget....

Honestly, and I've said this before, since you only want 700hp, you are looking at turbos that will do nothing but frustrate you with lag.

Get the *smallest* turbo that will make the power you want efficiently. I wouldn't go bigger than an 80 either (and would most likely have kept the 78 and enjoyed the instant boost).

Twins on a budget? Bad idea

Personally for 700hp, I wouldn't do twins. Its too expensive for too little benefit at that level. I'm ending up shooting at the 800-850hp range (down from 1100 because I want the truck to be fun on the street again) myself but already had the turbos -- and they are stg III 60-1s.

I bigger turbo won't make the truck faster if you don't have the supporting mods and aren't going to turn it up, but a smaller one might.

Which would you rather have? A truck that does 15psi and sees boost between 4500 and 6200 or a truck that does 15psi and sees boost from 2000 to 6200? That second setup will probably have 15psi between 3500 and 6200rpm, while the first will have 15psi from 5250-6200.

im with him. i know my 88 does lag and when i had the 76mm on the truck would spool like now..lol. so the 78 would have worked with the 408. hell with the 370ci and a 76 at 13psi made 625rwhp...so i know that 78 with a 408 and 13-15 psi would make your mark...but a bigger turbo would pull and make more power up top as you know and you can allway spray it out of the hole.....lol

when i had the 78mm everyne told me it would choke it up around 5-5500rpm and be out of steam at 13-15psi???
now your saying keep it??? ya'll have confused the **** outta me....

05CREW:
when you say laggy.... what do you mean??? when would the 88 start to spool??

TurboBerserker :
what are you tlking about 1st setup and second setup??
as far as the "budget" i can get 2 turbonetics tc66 .81ar for $1000 from a friend so they could be in y budget.. is why i am asking about Twins??

also i want ATLEAST 700rwhp would relly want more around 850rwhp on 93 octain but i'm just being realistic so i didn't get bashed

i would like it to start spooling around 2500-3200 and pull to atleast 6000rpm

When I was planning my turbo build I called forcedinductions and they recommended a pt-88 to feed a 408 to 800hp. That may be a good choice for you aswell.
