Default Well that was short lived :( help

So I just installed a trick stage 3 kit this weekend, got tuned yesterday.

got the trans tuned today.

figured all was fine and stuff, happy as hell the truck was running great and making tons of power.

well I took my friend for a spin tonight and while going from 100-170kmh my check engine light came on and truck went into reduced power mode.

the CEL was blinking. never seen that before.

I had my code scanner hooked up while I was driving.

shows " cylinder 7 misfire."

I limped the truck home (2 minute drive).

the plug wire boot was not fully on the coil pack. like it was on. but not all the way on and clicked in.

theres engine oil all over the underside of the truck. but I cant really see where it came from.

the dipstick tube is still in. no oil around it.

oil pressure is down a lot.

yes truck is shaking like its misfiring.

TONS of white smoke coming out of the exhaust.

im ******* so upset right now.

truck has 9700 km on it. and obviously just voided the warranty with the turbo lol..

its a 5.3 DOD AFM btw.

anyone have any suggestions? Im all ears.

Yep, headgasket for the while smoke. Maybe the oil is from the rear main seal? Hows you're PCV set up?

Pull plugs and see how the gaps look. Check rear main seal, that's where I was leaking when I broke.

This is the reason I am getting out of modding a brand new truck. Hurts even more when they break.

Thanks for the speedy responses guys.

I have a catch can and a gm inline check valve installed on driver side pcv system.

on the passenger side I just have a tube coming off my valve cover. and it actually looks like it shot some oil out into the e fans. but just a little.

there is more oil on the back half of the engine and most of it on the transmission than on the front of the engine.

is the white smoke burning oil. or coolant? it seems to smell more like burning oil.

and also I took off the intake tube and had a look inside my intake manifold through the throttle body and there was white smoke floating around in there.

and also white smoke coming out of the clean side pcv tube on passenger side.

I only pulled plug number 7. and it looked fine other than the fact that it was covered in oil.

so you guys might think that I blew my rear main seal and my head gasket at the same time?

is saying the driver side head gasket blown, because of the number 7 misfire?

White smoke usually means burning coolant. I have basically the same PCV system as you and no issues yet.

How much boost were you running? The parts arent horribly expensive, it is mainly the labor in doing it. When you do repair it, I would suggest some good head bolts or studs, a multi layer head gasket, and change the lifters when you are in there. Also would be a good time to update the rockers... Damn it turns into a snowball effect. Get a cam too. lol
