Default Water temp gauge sensor in HEX?

So the HEX i have has a threaded port for a sensor, is it worth having a water temp gauge to monitor what the temp is flowing thru the HEX? This is the HEX I have

I have one installed on my Maggie setup. For me I use it as a reference to see how fast recovery time is for the cooling system.
