sure you can.

i have a tial wg. you can get springs for $30 each. the boost range is from something like 3psi up to 20+ in about 1.5psi steps. just pick your spring.

Im running a 5 psi spring in my wifes 5.3L. WOT it will hit about 6psi, sometimes I will see 7psi spikes. No boost controller whatsoever on a stock STS kit

Im runnin 10 psi spring, sometimes it hits 11 psi or maybe my guage is off alittle. Had a controller on there but took it off to see if there was any difference as far as how quick it builds boost.

I've got a 3 pound spring in mine. I've seen close to 7 now that I have gotten brave. I've had mine for about 2 months, and I just hooked up the boost controller this weekend (Apexi AVC-R) and it looks like it's doing what it's supposed to.

i understand i can do that, has yall ever seen you boost jump with ever gear you hit and keep climeing with the more RPM you turn? i can trun my boost controller off and see 5 psi with very bad boost spikes, up to 10 psi and climeing!!!

hmm. most of the time the boost level doesn't hold exactly steady. sometimes it spikes up a little and falls as rpms rise but on other set ups it will rise as rpms go up but going from 5psi up to 10psi is too much of a change. gate might be too small for the motor size. gate might be plumbed wrong.

Just having a controller hooked up can cause boost spikes if you don't run a bleed valve.Just run a boost reference hose to the wastegate and leave the other port open.It should hold steady. If it creaps up with rpm then the wastegate is too small or there is an exhaust restriction.

Most of the time I run 7lbs off the spring and it might jump to 8lbs on a shift. Then I have my $8 manual boost controller that a simple turn put's me at 10 or 14lbs if I like.

With the boost controller, I just see some spikes (about 1 PSI). But the 3 psi spring would allow up to 6-7 PSI regularly during WOT. I figured it's just the wastegate is not big enough to flow THAT much exhaust around it.
