Default Wastegate Location Help

Im putting together a turbo kit for a friend of mine.. im using a hot side kit which consists of driver stock manifold, crossover tube, and log but has no provision for the wastegate.. is there a downside of having it in the crosover under the truck or near the flange where the turbo bolts up... i can place it in either place just curious to know whats recomended...

thanks

this is where i have mine at i have no problems so far and its a KB from mount, ideally you want it to Y somewhere in the flow of the exhaust gasses.....If you mount the wastegate closer to the cross over it might even work better but i had clearence issues

is there never overboosting issues with the wastgate being there and the non wastegated (passenger bank) making enough flow to keep the turbo spooling? seems like the proper place for the wastgate would be right where the two banks merge or right before the turbo flange .

Even with the giant 1.32AR T6 housing on the S475, I still saw 2psi less boost than my WG spring was rated for. This is on Kyle's kit with the WG from the crossover to the DP.
