Vortech V-2 SC belt noise issue
Hey guys, its been a while since my last visit.
I have been chasing at what i think is a belt issue.
I drive a 2004 Chevy Avalanche 5.3 with a Vortech V-2. About a year after installed, it started making a cricket noise. The kit came with 2 belts. One 113" and the other 114". I have been using the 114" since i have the bigger alternator. The 113" simply wont fit.
When the noise started, i purchased a 114" Gatorback from eBay. When i compared it against the Vortech 114", i thought it was a tad bigger. I put it on and went to the highway and stumped on it. Guess what, it fell off. I went ahead and got on SummitRacing's website to order another one.....but, i found out that the Gatorback 114" is actually 114.50". No wonder.
So for you guys that use V-2 and have replaced the belt, do you mind posting a direct link to website with a 6-rib 114" or 113.50" that actually fits?
Dayco, Gatorback or Gates?
Is there also an aftermarket tensioner available? Not that im looking for one. Just wondering.
Thanx,
Mick.
