Default VGT turbo

So has anyone tried using a holset VGT turbo? there are a couple different makers of controlers so you can put one on a older style diesel... Gives the best of both worlds... And im talking on a everyday driver..

There are some small 4cyl guys doing it....I think twin he351VE turbos would be perfect for a 4.8L-6.0L.

I was gonna try and build a twin setup with those turbo for my truck before I did my last setup. Talked to Fleese about there controller and they told me at that time it wouldn't work on it's own, needed to be used with the older Dodge diesel PCM. It's also like $600 and I'd need 2 of them plus those turbos are around $350 used on eBay so was gonna get expensive fast. I just decided to do a conventional setup instead. Something I would still like to try though.

I bet if it worked right it would make for one hell of a ride

Do a mechanical setup. Very cheap.

I came across some 4cyl "tuners" guys controlling it with rod style waste gate actuators. That would definable lower cost of the build... I need to finish the lengthy post about it to finish it up to find out if they got good control...

You could also just use a spring, as backpressure already tries to open up the rack.
