This will be going into a 97 Z71 ECSB, and the engine is a stock headed 2005 5.3 and 2004 ZO6 cam. I also will be doing the head bolts/studs, and rod bolts with ARP fasteners. Was thinking that the stock "yellow" ZO6 springs would be good, but I am wondering if I should just bite the bullet now since I am swapping them if it is worth just going to an aftermarket set such as the patriot golds or comp 918 springs instead. Not too sure if the added spring pressure will wear the cam prematurely or not. The plan is to run low boost until I can upgrade to a forged 370 ci later on down the road. Maybe somewhere in the 5-6 psi range for now. I drive the truck daily, and do not want to have any issues with driveablity or reliablity. Just figured it was worth getting some other oppinions first. Please let me know what you think.
