The weld penetrates all the way through the piping wall(or it should be) and it is best to have shield gas on that side of the weld just like you do on the torch side to help keep the weld pure. I wouldn't get tore up about it since it is just exhaust piping but duwem will because it needs to be built to the same standards as piping that will flow 1100 psi @ 580*F of nuclear steam

Wow you learn something everyday. Thanks for sharing that I will have to try that next time. How do you like your new turbo setup?

Waiting on my wideband to get back from innovate getting fixed. It has me held up tuning. Converting the fuel system to return style and should have all my parts in for that by the end of the week. Should hit the dyno june 17th

I'm 21 boys, dont use your age as an excuse for your slacking off and not practicing welding
Purging will prevent the bubbling on the backside of the welds, basically cap the ends and run a small stream of argon into the pipe.
ever thougth about trying to tig weld?

Yeah im just taking my time with the truck this time so i can do it right. Did the exhaust make a big difference?

srry... a little late on this response..

oh ya, made a drastic difference... was able to put it on a dyno a few days after which... lt as&m headers/gutted cats, to the reg. old flowmaster cat back made a 18 rwhp/20 rwtq gain over previous catback... those are untuned numbers btw
