There must be a divider inside the pipe so that the compressed air goes left and the exhaust goes right. I could see what he was going for, a roll bar type look, but the extra hot pipe from the engine to the turbo, in later pics, ruined that look. That ought to really boost the compressed air temperature.
I don't see what's the big deal about showing the world your stuff, just like these two pictures:
