Twins worth it ?

NNBS ext cab short bed 4.8 cam swap, head studs, 4l80e 4x4 shooting for 6-700hp and will never tow with it, probably hit the track a couple times a year.
What is everyone's opinion on twinning a 4.8 for daily driving?
How much does it help with response?

At that level you dont need it. A single installation is much simpler and generally cheaper. Twins look cool though. With proper tuning and sizing you probably wouldnt be able to do a blind test and notice a difference in spool time.

twins have alot of pros but one thing many dont like is cost of them, in some cases a twin setup will be cheaper then buying a large enough single turbo to do the job but at same time a twin setup with a goal of 700 hp will typically be more money then a single setup...
twins are harder to package
now i have a gmt900 truck that has a procharger on it now, im going to be doing twin 6265s on it. I do tow alot and i already have the turbos, this will be on a 5.3
now as atomic said a single will get the job done at your power level

I know coming out of diesel truck pulling your only as good as your turbo. which meant I had $3500 in my turbo by the time it was all done.
Will a ball bearing turbo make a difference in response time?
What turbo would you recommend for a single up to 700hp that would respond quickly?

you wont need to spend that kinda of coin what so ever for a 700 hp goal in this world, you wont need ball bearing either...thats typically a marketing thing for vehicles that cant spool on their own
you could run a chinese turbo and make 700 without batting a eye, you could run a PTE and make that number, you could run a BW without spending alot
700 hp isnt alot of power in this world vs diesel

BB turbos do spool a little better...how much money do you want to spend? Any decent 70-76mm should get you there easily and spool well. By decent I mean not ebay. If you had that much invested in your last setup you clearly dont want low-end hardware. As George said making 700hp on these engines isnt particularly hard, but making it last a long life depends on a lot of things.

For a 4.8 and 700ish, I'd put one of Forced inductions new billet s369's on it. They are rated to about 900fywh hp and would spool very well on a 4.8. Price is around a grand I think. They are very good turbo's, should last forever! lol

Twins are not the way to go for your power level.
The cons vs pros just not a solid thing. UNLESS you want that look and power is a second thought.
A single kit is more then able to get you to that power level spool nice and have fun.

Wow this thread has a combined experience/knowledge that is unmatched. Trick and KBracing pretty much launched the turbo kit world for LStrucks and George/atomic are 2 of the most knowledgeable guys in the truck world. I would listen to what this group has to say over just about anyone on any truck forum on the Internet.
