I wonder also, if it would help to keep a rake from back to front so that when it squats it wont raise as much in the front? Or do the straps help that much more?

Couple guys on here have done it. I know Roger (AKlowriderZ71) did it running DR's and he said it was a much more stable launch and tracked straighter

I did it and pulled a couple 1.4x 60's, it launches very straight.

I went from a 2.3 60' with stock 265/70R17 in 1800' DA to a 2.2 with 285/70R17 in 3500' DA. this was mostly stock. Just had intake, LT, catted mids, dual 3" with Magnaflow mufflers, 4.56 gears and a mail order tune. I would spin the front tires through 1st and bark 2nd. Best to date is a 1.79 all motor on the 285s.

Here is a vid of a 3300 rpm launch. 1.9 60' The next weekend I went to a different track and ran my 13.2 with a 1.79 60'
I DD with my straps snug. I tighten them 1 full turn at the track.
