Going twin turbos for my 8.1 and I don’t want a kit. I can build the exhaust/intake piping. I’m just puzzled on what turbo sizes. I keep reading mixed messages online. Some say Big Single. Some say Small Twins. I’m going with the smaller twins I guess. But what size turbos do you recommend. And what brand

Are t3/t4 turbos any good?

 

What is your power goal? T3/T4s are going to be really small for an engine that size. Id be scared to put anything fast spooling on an 8.1 for fear of it bending rods. From everything ive seen they say you need forged rods and pistons at 500hp.

 

If going twins on that motor, I run twin BW S358's with the smaller 68mm turbine and .88 a/r.

For a single, plain and easy, a box stock T6 S475.

 

It’s fully forged internals. 511 Stroker.

I agree with kyle. Twin s300s would be killer for a street setup maybe some 63/68s.

 

511 cubes?? Twin 366 with a larger exhaust housing to handle the volume. A stated above...what is the HP goal? How do you want the power delivered? Answer those questions HONESTLY and that will dictate what turbo(s) and cam you need to get.
