TVS 1900 3.2lb pulley (8-9psi but only reading 5psi?)

Not too sure why this happened... I've installed the tvs1900 finally, but am running into boost problems! I have a feeling it might be belt slip since I had to get custom idle pulley brackets made and installed...

Could the exhaust limit the boost? I'm running the stock exhaust so far, waiting for my system to come in (around a week or 2).

If anyone can help or offer any insights, please lemme know!

Thanks

why did you need to get custom idler pulley brackets made?

i bought the kit used, and it was missing a few pieces...can you explain what exactly to feel when there is belt slip??? I haven't felt much difference then what it was before the supercharger... feels like around a 50hp gain, not the 120hp gain advertised??

because the ones I shipped him didn't show up.

Post a pic so we can see what you've got. You shouldn't be seening belt slip at 8-9 lbs bad enough to drop you to 5psi unless its really loose

Depending on what kind of timing your running on the E38 you will see huge variations in hp. If its the 1st time tuning a FI with an E38 your probably running 0-(-15) degrees of timing at WOT.

If your exhaust sucked you would actually see more boost, since boost is a measure of air pressure which is in turn a measure of resistance...

When I think you arent seeing the amount of boost you see I think of:
- belt slipping (most likely)
- blower maxed (not likely)
- valve float (not as likely)

Check the blower snout for belt dust and take a pic of you idler bracket.

you bought the kit used, and had to modify and tune it? Magna Charger does not advertise 120 RWHP gain on a "used" fabbed together kit. Post up some pics of what you had to do.

Call me tomorrow and we can get you what you need to make it work correctly.

here's the finished product...we used the factory idler pulley in place..its as tight as a tiger, but still unsure of whats happening...

WOT Im running 15* with no KR and 11.5AFR.... I also think the problem is the injectors... WOT and cruise my STFTs reading +/- 5 but at idle they go up to +25... im thinking there might be a leak somewhere if that's the case...
