Most of the boosted rice rockets use "turbo timers" which keep the motor running after the key is turned off for a certain time ( or temp ) for the turbo to cool down. You can buy them fairly cheap.
IMHO the idle/drive time at the end of the strip to the parking area is sufficient. The logic buster is with the STS systems, Squires claims the remote location keeps the turbo and oil cool enough that a timer is not required.

run synthetic too. regular oils will cook faster in the turbo leaving a tar residue as so i read on ls1tech.
