Or can I run the stock converter for a little while untill the new piece gets shipped to me? I'm only looking at the isky triple 12 or the tu0 cam. Nothing crazy.
I doubt it "too much" for the stock tc. I would say get a 3000 stall from a vendor and do it all at once. One tune for everything. There were a couple nice used ones in the classified too

Not exactly...if you have very high back pressure and a weak spring the gate could easily be opening before you see boost.

How would I know if a 3000 is what I need? I would just hate to install it and it not suite the combo and me not like it.

Also is there any brands/kinda to absolutely stay away from? Or are they all about the same-ish?

ok ok. I hear ya, the lowest spring I have had in my truck was a 4lb and it started opening at 2psi. my 6 psi opened at 4ish. 8psi opened around 6 and so on. if he has a 8 psi spring in the gate and a regular exhaust that he prolly has being turbo then it should not open when still in vacuum. Right or no?

We have very similar setups and I have a 3000 stall and love it. I wouldn't go any higher or lower.

now that I have put a few hundred miles on the truck I think I am going try and get the exhaust to be a tad bit quieter. I is a 24in long full 4in diesel muffler on it now and that's it. while it is manageable at idle I think when im cruising around id like to hear less of the exhaust.

could I just put another 3in resonator in front of the muffler? the muffer dumps just before the rear axle so I should have plenty of room to have one put there. I just don't want to have too much restriction on it and loose any power.

what is everyone doing when running a turbo? or is it just that everyone is running loud *** open pipes? lol

My tuck is loud too, I have 4" to two 3" straight through mufflers, turn out in front of rear tire, and I can't stand it, I'm going over the rear axle next!

Well crap lol. When I get back in town I will take it in and see what the recommend. I know it won't be as quiet as stock if just like it a tad bit quieter. Hopefully I can get it worked out.
