Default Turbo help

Okay so I'm about to turbo my truck the turbo I bought is a turbonetics tc 78. 78mm compressor wheel and a 68mm turbine wheel with a 3" v band. Would the 68mm turbine be to small or should I be alright. It's going on a 5.3 l33 silverado I want to run 10 pounds and have 500 or so hp. If any one could help me with the issue that would be great.

Yeah, that turbo will be fine for what you wanna do with it. I've used them as well as others. I was pushing 600+ with a 68mm turbine.

Thanks Kb that's good to know. I was wondering because someone told me I would be choking the engine with that size.

Giant turbines are sweeping the nation right now. Everyone and their dog is going to tell you to run a 105mm turbine in a 1.58AR T6 housing... You'll be fine with that turbo though.

Decent sized turbines never hurt though, something in the 73-77mm is what I'm looking into on a 5.3 as well. I just can't see these small turbines doing anything but making a lot of drive pressure with the compressors being as large as they are. Just my 2 cents

yea big comp with small turbine is not a effective setup

but alot of people dont know the actual specs of the turbo they have, and get the inducer and exducer sizes messed up

knowing comp and turbine wheel specs helps figure out what turbo to go with

It's the internet! Options are considered facts and spread like wild fire!!! lol.

I'm not saying that the OP's turbo is the best, but it will serenely do what he is wanting. Is there better turbo's out there? Yes, but his will do what he's looking for.

I should have said exducer measurement when I mentioned those sizes.
