Default Turbo headers vs manifolds?

Is there a big difference betweent the two, I'm not looking for all out power. I will be building my own headers, if needed.

Thanks.

I don't think changing the manifolds will net any more power on a turboed vehicle.

The stock truck manifolds will flow plenty of air and can handle the abuse. Fittment will be the issue, depending on where you mount your turbo and how you mount it. The manifolds may or may not work out for you.

We build one log manifold and reuse the drivers side, makes plenty of power.

This completely changes depending on the turbo and boost level. For most "streetable" boost levels, the stockers are actually better than headers (retains the heat better) IMO, but as the guy who set **** on fire during a single dyno pass at 14psi, sometimes heat ain't all that They do flow better / as well as any shorty header on the market, but don't flow as well as a good set of LTs or Middies.

If you are going to run 10-12psi max on a stockish motor and can figure out how to keep the stockers, do it. If you're going bigger / higher, can can make a good flowing set of headers, do it (else look for a fab shop imo).

We have 2 1000hp Turbo LS1's running stock manifolds. - there is no problem with them.
