I had one of the FI ones I think, $250 blanket...rotted and fell apart pretty much, then caught on fire but thats another story. Got a $50 ebay blanket and pretty much same story, but does its purpose.

Also, the amount of timing you are running has a huge impact on the amount of heat in the engine bay. I had my idle timing set around 20 degrees and there was so much heat coming off my turbo and pipes it was nearly painful to check my transmission fluid level. Bumped it up to 30 degrees and it was much better.

Yes, lower timing means higher EGT's. Mines at 21 deg now but I don't feel like I have an issue with heat. 30 deg timing at idle is a lot! Is that in gear or P/N?

Open the hood. I could put my hand on it. It was hot hit but did not burn my flesh off. :)

Truth. I love mine and it fits the 70mm great

45 dollar ebay special on two turboed rides. Both holding up great and holding heat in pretty good. They're T4's, with one on a S480 T6 1.32 and the other on a Magnum 76 Q-trim .96. Small on the T6 and big on the T4, haha.

I like the fact the have great feed back and that they are made in USA. Its probably the blanket I'll be getting . What size turbo do you have it on?
i have a t4 70mm. not sure if they have a bigger t6 one. mine was plenty big for the 70mm.

I got mine from XPW
XPW Turbo Blankets - XPW Products

So far it's held up great, steel mesh lined. Coulda went one size smaller but it keeps things cool under the hood.
