Default Tuning Issue ???

I have recently installed my 60 lb injectors and retuned my truck. I am getting two codes: p0174 and p0171 (Bank 1 and 2 Lean). I have checked for a vaccum leak (using carb cleaner) and did not find one. Can these codes be related to the injector tune? The AFR is perfect until I let of the throttle then it goes to something around 18.1-20.0 AFR or more. My truck also surges. Any help would be great!

Thanks!

Are you runing with a MAF or are you 2barSD? If you are running MAF ( which I am guessing you are) your Afr may be fine under normal driving but your fuel trims may be adding allot trying to get it as close to stoich as possible. Any idea what your fuel trims are? I bet they are positive quite a bit. As far as it going way lean under decel, is your DFCO turned on? Most likely is unless you specified you want it off. Seeing as though you said you are learning to tune I guess you have tuning software? If so hook it up and do a Log, when it goes way lean on decel see what your timing does. If you timing drops to like 0 then its your DFCO kicking in.

Just a FYI, those injectors are very picky about having the correct settings in the tune. I am running the same injectors.

I'm still running a MAF....One of my friends has hp tuners that i've been studying lol...I will get ahold of the software and log my truck to see whats going on... I'm almost willing to bet it's the DFCO...

Problem is either the minimum pulse width table(s) or the injector voltage adjustment table or both.

Agreed, with these injectors the settings are critical for proper idle and decel fueling.

I have spent some time working with hp tuners.....I've been reading and learning how to tune on the forum's and the hp tuners website...How hard is it really? I know that it's complicated and important to get right.... I just don't want to mess anything up tuning it with the procharger lol

Also...Thanks for all the help!!!!

Baby steps, baby steps. There is allot to learn, start with making small steps and continue doing so till you learn what effects what and how everything works. Some tables are very touchy to small changes and others are not. This is where you have to be carefull. Read read read.
